Gas Money Saving Tips

When it comes to gas money saving tips. We can’t change the price of gas but there are a couple of things you can do.

First and most common in just drive less. Some of you will say easier said than done. Driving less is not an option. You have to drive so many miles to work everyday and you have to drive so many miles home.

But what about those extra trips to the store or that fun Sunday drive? Do you really need to go “check out” the mountain or go see your mom or Aunt Betty or can you just call them on the phone and save a lot of gas and time?

For that matter do you really need to drive to work? Is there some part of your job that you could do from home once or twice a week? If you could cut one trip a week out of your commute how much could you save on gas?

Or better yet if you could commute to the office in your house via your feet how much would those gas money saving tips be worth to you? Could you start living a debt free life sooner if you could add an extra $200 to your roll-up amount?

Let’s look at some numbers.

My car gets about 20 miles to the gallon. Gas in my area is just under $4.00 a gallon. Therefore it costs me right at .20 cents a mile just for the gas for my car. This does not look at the maintenance, oil, tires, etc. for the car just the gas.

So at .20 cents a mile how much does it cost you to go to work each day? At a trip of 20 miles each way, 40 miles total plus 10 miles for lunch at your best place to eat. It costs you $10 per day just to get to work. Now $10 does not sound like that much but if you add it up to $50 dollars a week times 52 weeks a year that is $2600 just for the gas to get you to work.

That is 7% of your income if you are making 35,000 dollars a year. Which is a huge investment in someone you might not even like. (Your boss)

Let’s look at what you could do with that $2600 or even if you saved half of it each year.

With $1300 or just over a hundred dollars a month, you could save about 5 years of your life by paying off your mortgage early

If you added the one hundred dollars to your roll-up margin from driving less and found a second hundred dollars you could save up to ten years of your life and be completely debt free living a debt free life in no time.

What if you were to start an online business like this one to make $800 more dollars a month to put towards your debt and savings? For a total of $1000 dollars each month. You could pay off all your debt even your house and student loans.

Following the Debt steps plan along with adding to your income and using some gas money saving tips, you could even start living a debt free life even faster.

I must warn you this is not a get rich quick plan. It is a get rich plan but unlike most places you will have to work to make this happen. Nothing is free and easy in life.
