A Debt Free Life

A debt free life seems almost too good to be true these days doesn't it?

I know I felt that way for a long time. Between my mortgage, student loans, and car loans I assumed this was a way of life simply to be accepted. But that is not true.

That is just a myth credit companies want you to believe. Credit companies (are not in business to help you, they are in business to get your money!) You can live without debt.

You don't need to have credit cards, you don't even need that auto loan. And your 30 year mortgage, can be paid off much faster than you think! You can have a debt free life.

But why? Well for many reasons. To begin, my guess is that if you are looking at my page you are probably sick of debt. Either it is over running you, or you hate how much you pay in interest. Either way it's keeping you up at night.

Thoughts of "Did I make that Visa Credit Card Payment?"
"Let's see I get paid on the 15th but the van payment isn't due till the 17th so that should work out."
"Ugh, we want to go to grandma's for Christmas but with all the bills, and the high cost of gas, I don't think we can afford it."

If you don’t realize that your interest is eating you alive, as it is most Americans read on…

A federal reserve study showed that as of July 2006 homeowners spend 18.06% of their disposable income (after taxes) and renters spend around 25% of their disposable income on the cost to own their homes, cars, furniture, etc. So if you make $40,000 (take home for easy math) you are spending about $602 for a homeowner and $839 for a renter per month as a “tax” simply to have your lifestyle. If you did not use debt what could you do with an extra $602/mo?

1. 96% of all Americans will retire financially dependent on the government, family, or charity. (U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services)
2. Almost one out of every 100 households in the United States will file for bankruptcy this year.
3. Americans carry, on average, $5,800 in credit card debt from month to month. If one were to make only the minimum payment on that debt every month, it would ake 30 years to pay off - and include an additional $15,000 in interest.

Let’s start with a simple question, What would happen to your lifestyle today if you lost your job? What if you couldn’t find a job for 4-5 months, even a year? Would you survive using credit cards? If you were out of debt, had a savings, and investments bringing in a regular income a job loss would be difficult but not devastating.

I outline simple, yet extremely effective steps that will allow You to be in charge of your life, not your creditors. You will avoid credit card debt, get out of your student loan debt, and not even consider a refinance option.

These steps will show you how to have a debt free life, and the enjoy the freedom that accompanies a debt free lifestyle. Including how to avoid department store credit cards, late fees, and bad credit. The steps to a debt free life take time. It normally takes many years to get in a serious debt situation. This solution is not a quick fix, it does not include a loan consolidation, and you can be debt free without credit counseling.

But I can show you how to have a debt free life, including your mortgage within 5-7 years! Which is much better, and cheaper than the 30 year option.

Imagine yourself 5-7 years from now. How old will you be? What do you want to be doing? How much money would you need to live on if you had no debt?

If you had no mortgage, credit cards, or car loans? Just utilities, food, gas, etc.

Now if you needed only living expenses, could you retire early? Probably. You may be able to save and invest the difference for that long dreamed for trip to Europe. (Oh, wait thats my dream, but I am sure you have your own.)

Living a debt free life is fun! It is exciting! It is satisfying! All of sudden when you drive home you can say to yourself, "this is my home, not the banks." "This car is my car, not the dealerships." "This furniture is mine, not the stores."

When you are living on debt you are only renting your lifestyle. But when you live a debt free lifestyle you own what you enjoy every day.

The decisions you make at work are based on the good of the company, the good of the customer, not on whether you will lose your job or not. That confidence shines through! You can be a happier person because go debt free!

But lets start with step one. Your debt is real and very unnecessary! You need to realize how bad debt is!

It can cost you millions over your lifetime. So begin now to get rid of your debt!

"A man in debt is so far a slave,"
Ralph Waldo Emerson.
